An article on all-electronics.de
Most of you know "bonding" as a general term for various processes in the assembly and connection technology. The best-known examples are wire bonding, chip bonding, waver bonding or anodic bonding. Thermal bonding, however, as a generic term for procedures such as "Hot Bar Soldering" or "ACF Bonding", is rather less well-known. Nevertheless, it is more and more frequently used in a variety of applications for the connection of electrical components, such as FPC (Flexible PCB), Displays and PCBAs as an alternative to the conventional electro-mechanical plug-in connector technology.
